Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESProject Design & EngineeringDesign and review civil and structural components for floating solar installations, including pontoon platforms, mooring systems, anchoring arrangements, and bank-side civil works.Conduct site feasibility studies, bathymetric surveys, and hydrological assessments of water bodies.Prepare detailed engineering drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent software.Evaluate water body characteristics (wind, wave, current, sediment) and incorporate them into structural designs.Conduct risk assessments related to water levels, wind loads, and structural stability. Support vendor evaluation and contractor managementProject Execution & Site SupervisionOversee on-site civil construction activities, ensuring adherence to approved designs, timelines, and safety standards.Coordinate with procurement teams for material planning and vendor management related to civil works.Monitor quality of civil work including concrete structures, cable trenching, sub-station civil works, and fencing.Review and certify site progress reports, inspection records, and as-built drawings.Compliance & DocumentationEnsure all civil works comply with applicable codes (IS codes, IEC standards, MNRE guidelines, local regulations).Liaise with local authorities, revenue departments, irrigation boards, and government bodies for land/water body clearances.Prepare and maintain project documentation including technical reports, method statements, and inspection test plans (ITPs).Identify and manage civil construction risks, and implement corrective actions proactively.Collaboration & CoordinationWork closely with electrical, mechanical, and procurement teams to ensure integrated project delivery.Coordinate with EPC contractors and subcontractors on site for smooth execution.Support the BD and pre-sales team with civil cost estimation and technical inputs for tenders and proposals.Engage with O&M teams post-commissioning for civil maintenance and structural inspection activities. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEEducationDiploma/B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized universityMinimum 4 years of relevant experience in solar (ground-mounted, rooftop, or floating), infrastructure, or renewable energy projects.
REQUIRED SKILLSTechnical SkillsProficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro, or design and analysis.Experience in structural design of floating structures, jetties, platforms, or marine/hydraulic structures will be an advantage.Understanding of soil mechanics, foundation design, and geotechnical investigation processes.Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and structural drawings.
