Job Description
Planning & Schedule LeadershipDevelop and maintain detailed, fully logic-linked construction schedules for refinery projects using Primavera P6.Establish and control baseline schedules, construction sequencing, and execution strategies aligned with project and refinery-specific requirements.Liaise with construction contractors to get their detailed L4 schedules, compare with own schedule and optimize as needed.Ensure that the construction schedules for the different contractors / trades (such as civil, structural, mechanical, piping, insulation, painting, electrical, instrumentation etc) are properly and logically linked.Define work breakdown structures (WBS) and construction work packages in coordination with construction and engineering teams.
Progress Control & AnalysisSet up proper construction progress methodology which will correctly depict the construction progress.Monitor and analyze construction progress, identifying schedule variances, critical path changes, and potential delays.Liaise with construction contractors and company's construction supervisors to reflect correct construction progress in reportsPrepare and present weekly and monthly planning reports, including S-curves, manpower histograms, productivity analysis, and look-ahead schedules.Perform schedule risk assessments and develop mitigation and recovery plans.Support forensic schedule analysis, time impact analysis (TIA), and claims-related activities. Coordination & Interface Management.Interface closely with engineering, procurement, construction, QA/QC, HSE, and commissioning teams to ensure schedule integration.Integrate subcontractor schedules into the master construction schedule and verify alignment with overall project milestones.Participate in constructability reviews, shutdown/turnaround planning, and work packaging strategies.
Change & Risk ManagementAssess schedule impacts of design changes, scope growth, procurement delays, and site constraints.Advise project management on schedule risks and recommend proactive mitigation actions.Support management of schedule-related change orders and extensions of time (EOT).
Standards & ComplianceEnsure planning and scheduling activities comply with project controls procedures, contractual requirements, and company standards.Promote safe work practices by incorporating HSE milestones and constraints into construction schedules.
RequirementsMinimum 10+ years of planning and scheduling experience in oil & gas projects.Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) or Construction Management significant exposure to refinery construction.Proven experience on refinery projects, including brownfield and greenfield developmentsExpert-level proficiency in Primavera P6 (mandatory).Strong understanding of refinery construction disciplines: piping, structural steel, mechanical equipment, E&I, and insulation.Experience with advanced schedule analysis, recovery planning, and claims support.High proficiency in Excel and planning/reporting tools (Power BI or similar is an advantage)Strong leadership abilitiesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsHigh attention to detail with strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.Must be willing to work for 12 months contract.
