Construction Project Manager

This role is with a leading construction firm in the DC metro area, delivering high-profile projects across institutional, commercial, residential, healthcare, and mixed-use sectors. We’re seeking an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of large-scale construction projects. This role is ideal for a detail-driven leader who thrives on collaboration, problem-solving, and delivering results.

Responsibilities

• Full Project Ownership – Manage projects through all phases: preconstruction, procurement, execution, and closeout.
• Budget & Schedule Control – Develop and monitor project budgets, schedules, and cash flow, identifying risks early and driving solutions.
• Client & Stakeholder Relations – Serve as the primary point of contact with owners, architects, engineers, and consultants.
• Team Collaboration – Partner with Superintendents, Estimators, and Purchasing teams to ensure smooth operations and successful delivery.
• Subcontractor Management – Select, negotiate, and oversee subcontractors to ensure top performance and quality.
• Risk & Compliance – Maintain adherence to contract requirements, safety standards, and company policies.
• Leadership – Provide guidance and mentorship to junior project staff, fostering growth and accountability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager with a general contractor or specialty contractor.
• Proven experience managing ground-up and large-scale construction projects.
• Strong background in budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and contracts.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with site utilities and structural concrete work preferred.
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
