Summary:

A well-established organization based in Woodstock, CT is searching for a capable and detail-driven accountant to assist with a strategic clean-up initiative. This consultant will be responsible for resolving transactional issues, stabilizing key processes, and improving accounting accuracy across the board.

Primary Duties:

• Conduct in-depth analysis and clean-up of the general ledger, concentrating on AP and AR corrections, aged items, and unreconciled accounts.
• Take full responsibility for end-to-end AP and AR functions, ensuring all invoices, payments, and receipts are processed correctly and on schedule.
• Perform vendor and customer account reconciliations, research variances, and close out outstanding transactions to bring accounts current.
• Manage invoicing, cash application, deposits, and payment cycles while enhancing overall data quality and internal control processes.
• Clean and validate data within Sage 100 to ensure accuracy of financial reporting and system integrity.
• Implement practical improvements to accounting workflows to enhance efficiency and support a smoother monthly close.

Candidate Profile:

• Strong full-cycle accounting experience, with extensive work in the general ledger.
• Prior experience tackling accounting clean-up or remediation projects.
• Independent, organized, and able to manage responsibilities with minimal oversight.
• Sage 100 experience preferred; experience with multiple accounting systems is a plus.

Salary: $70,000-$80,000
