Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe seek a highly motivated, experienced Controller to be based at our McDavid, FL Lumber mill. The Controller, reporting to the Mill Manager, and indirectly reports to the Regional Finance Accountant, is a key part of plant management providing analytical support for all financial decisions.Principal ResponsibilitiesFinancial ReportingResponsible for managing site month end close and reporting, all reconciliations and account analysis.Responsible for ensuring site inventory counts are being performed and variances explained.Responsible for completing weekly/monthly/annual forecasts for the site and corporate FP&A.Responsible for completing weekly cost & other ad hoc analysis to assist the site in meeting its cost targets. Internal ControlsResponsible for adhering compliance with current internal controlsSupport the General Manager in enforcing site and company policies and procedures.Support internal and external testing as requiredProcess ManagementSupport West Fraser centralized or site accounts payable, payroll and fiber procurement and as needed, residuals processes.Drive operational and finance process improvement at the millCandidate – Experience and CompetenciesTo be effective in this role, the candidate will possess the following experiences and competencies:4-year degree, in Business, Accounting or Finance.
CPA designation or working towards one preferred.Related work experience of 3-5 years is required, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Flexible, detail-oriented, accurate, able to prioritize and meet deadlines. Results orientedAbility to work independently and as part of a team.
