Cost Accountant

Job Summary:

Emmi Dessert USA is a premium desserts manufacturer operating four manufacturing sites located in the New York Metropolitan Area. To strengthen its Finance organization, the company is looking for a Cost Accountant to provide accurate product costing, establishmanufacturing KPIs and inventory controls.

The Cost Accountant is responsible for Product Costing, Inventory Controls and Manufacturing KPIs at our location. This position requires close collaboration with Supply Chain and Operations to establish and improve transparency in efficiency (material & labor). This position will report to the Head of Cost Accounting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Verification of the existing product cost (incl. time / weight studies)

• Establishment of standard costs of manufactured goods

• Preparation of scenario calculations on input cost development

• Close collaboration with Supply Chain and Operations to enhance productivity & profitability

• Establish report material & labor variance analysis based on BOMs and production performance

• Establish inventory cost and reconciliation

• Developing financial analysis / reports to improve processes / profitability

• Support new business process with accurate costing information

• Prepare the underlying data to support CAPEX requests submitted to the local leadership team and to the group.

Qualifications / Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field

• At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role – preferably in food manufacturing

• Excellent financial analysis skills

• Ability to prepare financial reports and give recommendations based on available data

• Superior knowledge of financial reporting software tools and ERP software (VAI for Food Manufacturing an advantage)

• Excellent MS Excel skills

• Hands-on mentality

• Eager to establish & shape the Cost Accounting Organization

• strong communication skills in English (Spanish an advantage)
