Senior Associate Solicitor - Court of Protection Location: Reading (with hybrid working available) Department: Private Client - Court of Protection Job Type: Full-Time Permanent PQE Level: 5+ Years Salary: Competitive + Bonus + BenefitsAbout the Firm: Based in the heart of Reading, we are a forward-thinking and well-established law firm known for delivering expert legal services across the Thames Valley and beyond. Our growing Court of Protection team is recognised for its sensitive and client-focused approach, supporting vulnerable individuals and their families through complex legal matters involving capacity and financial management.As part of our ongoing expansion, we are now seeking a Senior Associate Solicitor to lead and develop our Court of Protection offering in Reading, supporting high-value and complex deputyship matters.The Role: You will take a lead role in managing a varied and often high-net-worth caseload of property and financial affairs deputyships, often involving complex injuries or capacity issues. You will act as a trusted advisor to lay and professional clients, oversee junior team members and contribute to the strategic growth of the team.Key Responsibilities:Acting as professional deputy or trustee in complex casesManaging client finances and long-term care planningHandling statutory will, gifting and Court applicationsSupervising and mentoring junior team membersSupporting business development and client relationship managementCollaborating with the wider Private Client, PI and Clinical Negligence teamsAbout You:A qualified solicitor with 5+ years' PQEStrong and demonstrable experience in Court of Protection (property & affairs)Comfortable dealing with vulnerable clients and their families with empathyA confident communicator with strong organisational skillsAble to manage a complex caseload with minimal supervisionSTEP-qualified or working towards (desirable)Experience with high-value personal injury/clinical negligence settlements (advantageous)What We Offer:A competitive salary and transparent bonus schemeFlexible hybrid working and a supportive team culturePrivate healthcare, pension scheme and enhanced leaveRegular CPD and career development supportOpportunity to influence and grow the Court of Protection practice areaInterested?
