Credit Control Supervisor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Credit Control Supervisor to join a well-regarded Higher Education organisation based in London. This role is vital in providing high-quality operational and supervisory support to the Credit Control function, ensuring effective debt recovery, accurate account management, and excellent service to internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the credit control process to ensure timely collection of outstanding debt Supervise and support credit control staff, monitoring workloads and performance Proactively chase overdue balances via phone, email, and written correspondence Review aged debt reports and implement appropriate recovery actions Investigate and resolve complex payment queries and disputes in a timely manner Ensure accurate allocation of payments and reconciliations of customer accounts Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with internal procedures and audit requirements Support escalated cases, including recommending further recovery action where necessary Manage shared finance inboxes, ensuring queries are responded to promptly and professionally Support month-end reporting, controls, and reconciliation processes Contribute to continuous improvement activities within the Credit Control team Ideal Candidate Profile: Proven experience in a credit control role, with experience supervising or supporting others Strong knowledge of debt recovery processes and financial controls Confident communication and negotiation skills Excellent attention to detail and organisational capability Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines Customer-focused approach with a professional and resilient manner Strong IT skills, including Excel and experience with financial systems Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a busy environment Location: London Working Pattern: Hybrid Hours: 35.5 hours per week Length: 3-month temporary contract Start Date: ASAP Rate: £250-£300 per day (Umbrella)
