Culinary Operations Assistant
Location: San Francisco, CA
Reports To: Culinary Director

The Culinary Operations Assistant works closely with the Culinary Director and leadership team to support daily operations, long-term initiatives, and cross-functional projects across the group. You will play a key role in organizing systems, supporting chefs, and ensuring consistency across kitchens.
What You’ll Do
- Support kitchen operations through organization, communication, and systems management
- Assist with SOPs, operational materials, and menu documentation
- Help track inventory, labor, and key operational metrics
- Support training programs, onboarding materials, and team development
- Coordinate calendars, meetings, events, and culinary initiatives
- Assist with vendor sourcing, product organization, and tastings
- Support recruiting efforts (interviews, stages, candidate logistics)
- A chef or culinary professional ready to transition into an operations-focused role
- Someone who understands the pace and standards of a professional kitchen
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven
- Strong communicator with the ability to work across teams
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and following through
- 3+ years of experience in a professional kitchen or similar environment
- Culinary degree preferred
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel
- Experience with restaurant systems, inventory, or budgeting is a plus
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move safely throughout all areas of the restaurant
- Food Handler’s Certification required (or ability to obtain)
