POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled and analytically driven Senior Data Analyst with 5–8 years of hands-on experience to join our analytics Centre of Excellence (COE). This role sits at the intersection of data analytics and procurement — the ideal candidate is proficient across the full data lifecycle (with a specific focus on procurement-related data), from raw data ingestion and cleansing to building dashboards, automating reporting pipelines, and delivering strategic business insights.
Technical depth alone is not enough for this role. We are looking for someone who understands the procurement and sourcing world, can work closely with category managers and sourcing leads, and is confident turning complex data into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Technical Analytics Skills – Data Handling, Modelling & Reporting
Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL workflows for structured and semi-structured procurement dataPerform thorough data profiling, deduplication, normalization, and transformation to ensure data integrity across all sourcesWrite complex SQL queries (joins, subqueries, window functions, CTEs, stored procedures) to extract and analyse large datasetsUse Python (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn) for data wrangling, analysis, automation, and visualization — scripting repetitive reporting and reconciliation tasksBuild advanced Excel models using VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, pivot tables, array formulas, and VBA macros; automate transformation workflows in Power Query (M language)Develop interactive dashboards, KPI scorecards, and spend reports using Power BI (DAX) or TableauDeliver ad-hoc analysis, variance reports, trend identification, and regular performance summaries to leadership2. Procurement & Commercial Knowledge – Sourcing Concepts, Cost Drivers & Supplier Strategy
Support sourcing teams with data and analytics throughout the sourcing lifecycle — from market analysis and supplier shortlisting through to bid evaluation and awardBuild and maintain spend analysis models, category dashboards, and supplier performance trackersAnalyse cost drivers, pricing trends, and should-cost data to support negotiation strategies and cost reduction initiativesProvide data-backed insights on supplier segmentation, risk exposure, contract compliance, and savings deliveryWork with procurement data from ERP and P2P systems (SAP, Oracle, Ariba, Coupa) — understanding PR, PO, GRN, and invoice workflowsSupport category managers with benchmarking data, market intelligence analysis, and RFx scoring analyticsTrack and report on supply chain KPIs — on-time delivery, lead times, vendor scorecards, and budget vs. actuals3. Business Influence Skills – Communication, Recommendations & Stakeholder Engagement
Translate complex data findings into clear, concise, and actionable insights for non-technical stakeholdersBuild compelling data narratives and presentations for leadership reviews, steering committees, and category strategy sessionsProactively identify savings opportunities, risks, and anomalies through data — and confidently present recommendationsPartner closely with procurement, finance, and operations teams to define data requirements and prioritise analytics workstreamsManage multiple stakeholder requests simultaneously, setting clear expectations and delivering to agreed timelines.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree5–8 years of proven experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a reporting functionDemonstrated hands-on experience with SQL, Python, Advanced Excel / Power Query, and at least one BI tool (Power BI or Tableau)Experience working with procurement, supply chain, or commercial datasets is strongly preferredExposure to ERP or P2P platforms (SAP, Oracle, Ariba, Coupa) is an advantageADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
