Data Scientist (Contract) Remote | £550/day Inside IR35 | 12-Month Contract We’re currently looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join a leading data organisation on a 12-month contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact analytical initiatives that directly influence product strategy, customer outcomes, and business decision-making. You’ll work across large and complex datasets, applying statistical analysis, modelling techniques, and data science best practices to deliver actionable insights.

The role also offers exposure to cloud-based analytics environments and modern data platforms such as Databricks. Key Responsibilities Analyse large and complex datasets to uncover actionable business insights Conduct statistical analysis to support product strategy and operational decisions Present analytical findings and recommendations to key stakeholders Support customer portfolio analysis, including credit application and risk analysis Monitor, evaluate, and improve model performance Contribute to research and development initiatives within the data science function Support the migration of analytical workflows to cloud-based platforms Process, match, and merge large-scale datasets from multiple data sources Collaborate with analytics and wider business teams on strategic initiatives Required Skills & Experience Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Methods, or similar Strong understanding of statistical methods and data analysis techniques Experience working with large and complex datasets Hands-on experience with cloud technologies, ideally Databricks Proficiency in Python, R, or other data science programming languages Experience with modelling, scoring techniques, and data mining methodologies Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to non-technical stakeholders Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team Contract Details Contract Length: 12 months Rate: £650 per day (Inside IR35) Location: Cardiff – Hybrid Working
