Data Scientist

Overview This role supports a strategic modernization initiative focused on migrating critical analytical and model code from SAS to Python. The Data Scientist will analyze existing SAS programs to understand business logic, statistical methodologies, and data transformations, then guide AI-assisted translation into Python. Must-Have Skills Strong SAS and Python expertise Experience validating model outputs Proficiency with Git, and professional use of LLM-based coding tools Nice-to-Have Skills Exposure to credit risk models, IFRS9, and experience in highly regulated environments Additional Skills & Qualifications Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills Experience performing numerical and statistical validation between platforms Ability to identify ambiguous logic and escalates to business or model owners Collaborative mindset when working with platform and engineering partners Experience Level Entry Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Toronto, ON.
