Deputy Chief Information Officer (Deputy CIO)
Location: Hybrid – 3 days On-Site, 2 Remote | Washington, D.C

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Deputy Chief Information Officer to play a pivotal role in driving innovation, operational excellence, and strategic IT initiatives at a leading hospital and healthcare organization. Daily Responsibilities:
- Overseeing day-to-day IT operations, including infrastructure, networks, data centers, and technical support
- Ensuring reliability, security, and performance of mission-critical systems such as EHR, PACS, and clinical applications
- Leading IT service desk and support teams, optimizing response times and user satisfaction
- Driving disaster recovery and business continuity planning to maintain uninterrupted clinical operations
- Managing IT project portfolios, ensuring timely, on-budget delivery of strategic initiatives
- Collaborating with clinical, financial, and administrative leaders to translate operational needs into technology solutions
- Administering IT budgets, procurement, and vendor management processes
- Mentoring senior IT directors and managers to cultivate high-performing teams and professional growth
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or related field; Master’s (MHA, MBA, MS in IT) highly preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive IT experience, with at least 5 years in senior leadership within hospitals or large healthcare systems
- Extensive experience managing and optimizing major Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Proven ability to lead large, diverse IT teams and manage substantial budgets
- Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship

- Strong understanding of clinical workflows and technology’s impact on patient care
- Effective communication with clinical staff, executives, and technical teams
- Certifications such as CHCIO, PMP, ITIL, or Epic/Cerner leadership training
