Job Description
Silver Fox Pharmacy is a Long Term Care (LTC) and Retirement Residence pharmacy serving residents across Ontario. We are currently seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Designated Pharmacy Manager to lead our pharmacy operations and support our growing LTC and RH services. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, regulatory expertise, and a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.
Responsibilities
- Act as the Designated Manager in accordance with Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) standards and requirements
- Ensure full compliance with all provincial and federal laws, standards, and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations, workflow, and staffing to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient medication dispensing
- Work closely with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy assistants, and administrative staff to maintain high-quality patient care
- Ensure prescriptions are reviewed for therapeutic appropriateness and accuracy, addressing concerns with prescribers as needed
- Support LTC and RH clinical services, including BPMH preparation and collaboration with nurses and physicians
- Maintain accurate, organized, and complete resident health records with appropriate documentation
- Implement, monitor, and continuously improve pharmacy policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs
- Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for pharmacy staff
- Participate in audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews as required
- Promote a positive team culture with strong communication and accountability
- Remain current with continuing education, professional standards, and licensing requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Registration and good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Previous management or supervisory experience preferred (LTC/RH pharmacy experience considered a strong asset)
- Strong organizational, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to build effective working relationships with healthcare partners
- Knowledge of Kroll Windows and experience with eMAR systems preferred

- OCP License required
