If you're excited by clean energy, infrastructure, technical problem-solving, and building practical solutions that matter, this is an opportunity to be part of an industry that is rapidly scaling and evolving.What You'll DoSupport Technical Project DevelopmentConduct technical site assessments and feasibility reviews for DER projectsSupport engineering design development, technical reviews, and constructability evaluationsAssist with interconnection applications, utility coordination, and technical documentationHelp prepare permitting packages and support plan review processes with local jurisdictionsEngineering & Design SupportDevelop and review technical drawings, project documentation, and engineering deliverablesEnsure designs align with applicable electrical codes, utility requirements, and project standardsSupport project teams in identifying and resolving technical or constructability issuesMaintain accuracy and attention to detail across engineering and development documentationPartner Cross-FunctionallyCollaborate with Development, Engineering, Permitting, and Project Execution teams to support successful project advancementCoordinate with third-party consultants, permitting partners, utilities, and environmental teams as neededSupport smooth handoffs from project development into construction and execution phasesAssist with stakeholder and community coordination activities related to project developmentSupport Operational ExcellenceTrack project development milestones, deliverables, and timelinesHelp identify project risks, delays, or permitting constraints and escalate concerns appropriatelySupport the development and maintenance of technical standards, templates, tracking tools, and process documentationAssist in preparing preliminary project scopes, schedules, and development budgetsWhat We're Looking ForRequired Experience2–5 years of experience in electrical engineering, project development, or distributed energy system designKnowledge of electrical systems, utility interconnection processes, and applicable electrical codes (NEC)Strong technical documentation and organizational skillsProficiency with engineering design and analysis toolsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experiencePreferredExperience with solar, battery storage, EV charging, or distributed energy systemsExposure to utility interconnection applications and permitting workflowsFE/EIT certification or interest in pursuing PE licensureExperience supporting construction or field-based infrastructure projectsWhat Success Looks LikeDelivering accurate and reliable engineering and development supportHelping projects move efficiently through development milestonesMaintaining strong technical documentation and quality standardsSupporting smooth coordination between technical and operational teamsContinuously building technical expertise within the DER and energy infrastructure spaceBenefits & PerksEmployer-subsidized medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance401(k) with 2% employer matchFlexible time away policy designed to support work-life balanceFederal holidays observed plus Friday half-days12 weeks gender-neutral paid caregiver leave$100/month phone and Wi-Fi allowanceRemote-first flexibility with opportunities for in-person collaborationOpportunities to grow within a rapidly evolving energy industryCompensation$101,500 – $123,700 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and geographic location alignment.Location & TravelThis role is based in the Minneapolis/St.
