What you will do
Domain Expertise & Data Management
Provide domain expertise in upstream oil and gas, focusing on data management best practices, OSDU data management, and key E&P processes (subsurface interpretation, well planning, drilling, completion, production).
Develop and implement strategic data management roadmaps and facilitate training programs for improved data governance and management practices.
Ensure adherence to industry standards such as PPDM, Energistics, and OSDU for data consistency and quality.
Application Support & User Assistance
Offer functional and technical support for geoscience and related applications, including but not limited to: Petra, Petrel, Kingdom, Transform, Wellview, Enerdeq, LogCatalog, IVAAP, ADME OSDU platform, PPDM, Kingdom Direct Connect, Geolog, Techlog, ROGII Starsteer. Activities include troubleshooting, project repairs, user training, software testing, and regular client communications.
Manage data integration and loading into G&G applications, transforming raw data formats for compatibility, and ensuring data quality post-loading.
Perform master data management tasks such as matching, merging, and creating golden records.
Application Upgrades & Vendor Coordination
Coordinate and conduct application version upgrades and functional testing of new software releases.
Work with industry vendors and oversee development, testing, and production environments.
Technical Tools & Scripting
Utilize Oracle and SQL scripting, as well as Python and shell scripts, for data analysis, data export, and integration.
Handle diverse data types including wells, deviation surveys, seismic data, core data, GIS data, and production volumes.
Operational Workflow Enhancement
Enhance operational workflows, provide application training, and deliver data solutions aligned with project requirements.
Coordinate with vendors and teams to facilitate successful application version testing, deployment, and user support.
About you
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Oracle and SQL Scripting).
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and Infrastructure as Code.
Solid understanding of database systems, query optimization, and indexing.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
Certifications in AWS/Azure, Kubernetes, or Database Administration.
Experience with databases (Oracle).
Exposure to DevSecOps practices.
