Director of Business Development– Multifamily Property Management
About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly driven Business Development Lead to accelerate growth within its multifamily property management portfolio. This individual will be responsible for sourcing, developing, and closing new management opportunities while building long‑term relationships with owners, investors, and institutional partners.
This role is ideal for a results‑oriented professional with deep industry knowledge, strong market connections, and a proven track record of winning new business in the multifamily space.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, pursue, and close new multifamily property management opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships with property owners, developers, investors, and brokers
- Develop strategic partnerships to drive consistent deal flow
- Lead the full business development lifecycle from prospecting through contract execution
- Collaborate with operations, marketing, and executive leadership to align growth strategy
- Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities and competitive positioning
- Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, and RFP responses
- Maintain a robust pipeline and consistently meet or exceed growth targets
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in multifamily property management, real estate, or related business development roles
- Proven track record of sourcing and closing third‑party management deals
- Strong network within the multifamily real estate industry (owners, investors, brokers)
- Experience working with institutional and private owners preferred
- Deep understanding of property management operations, financials, and value drivers
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills
- Self‑starter with a high level of accountability and entrepreneurial mindset
- Proficiency with CRM tools and pipeline management
Preferred Experience
- Experience in third‑party property management firms
- Exposure to both market‑rate and value‑add assets
- Familiarity with ownership structures (REITs, private equity, syndications)
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
