Summary
We are representing a well-established and growing construction organization seeking a Director of Project Management to oversee and lead its Project Management, shop, and field teams. This senior-level role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with approved plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
Based in Murrieta, CA, this position plays a key role in driving operational excellence, strengthening internal processes, mentoring project leadership, and aligning estimating, procurement, and execution teams. The ideal candidate brings strong construction management experience, proven leadership capability, and the ability to scale systems and teams as the organization continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee Project Managers, shop leadership, and field teams to ensure projects meet budget, schedule, and quality expectations
• Confirm materials are correctly submitted for approval and ordered per project specifications, approved submittals, and building codes
• Ensure consistent and effective communication across Project Management, shop, field, and estimating teams
• Review and validate change orders for accuracy and compliance as needed
• Develop, implement, and refine company-wide project management processes
• Train project personnel on company procedures and industry requirements
• Coach, mentor, and hold Project Managers accountable for performance and results
• Lead annual performance reviews for Project Managers, Superintendents, and Shop Management
• Lead weekly Project Management traction meetings
• Participate in weekly, quarterly, and annual leadership planning meetings
• Collaborate with the Estimating Manager to improve budgeting accuracy and project handoff
• Review weekly purchase order logs, change order logs, and project schedules and ensure updates are completed
• Assign Project Managers to newly awarded projects and balance workloads across teams
Qualifications
• Proven experience in senior-level project or construction management
• Strong leadership background overseeing multiple teams and concurrent projects
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, delegate effectively, and meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Thorough understanding of construction project controls, processes, and compliance
• Proficiency with Glazier Studio, Bluebeam, ESUB, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to evolving company processes
