Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary range: $125K - $150KPartial Relocation assistance up to $10kWe are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Risk to lead and oversee the hospital’s risk management and compliance programs. This high-impact leadership role is essential in safeguarding patients, supporting providers, and ensuring regulatory excellence across the organization and affiliated clinics.As both the Risk Management Leader and Compliance & Ethics Officer, you will play a critical role in identifying, mitigating, and preventing risk while fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.Risk Management & LeadershipDirect and manage the organization’s comprehensive risk management program.Identify, assess, and mitigate clinical, operational, and regulatory risks.Partner with leadership, providers, and staff to proactively address risk exposure.Litigation & Investigation OversightManage active and potential litigation, including investigations, interviews, and depositions.Coordinate legal hold processes and documentation in collaboration with legal counsel.Ensure timely and thorough response to claims and incidents.Compliance & EthicsServe as the facility’s Compliance and Ethics Officer, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.Lead compliance initiatives and promote ethical standards across the organization.Training & Culture DevelopmentEducate leaders, providers, and staff on risk management practices and incident reporting.Build a culture of safety, transparency, and continuous improvement.Develop and deliver training programs that strengthen organizational awareness and accountability.Collaboration & Relationship BuildingWork cross-functionally with clinical, administrative, and executive teams.Facilitate strong relationships with providers and key stakeholders.Act as a trusted advisor on risk and compliance matters.Required QualificationsActive (or eligible) New Mexico RN licenseBachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)5+ years of healthcare experience, including 3+ years in a leadership roleStrong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skillsPreferred QualificationsAdvanced degree (MSN, MBA, or Healthcare Administration)Experience in acute care risk managementBackground working in a for-profit hospital settingExperience in ethics and compliance programsProven ability to collaborate effectively with providers and multidisciplinary teams Why This Role MattersIn this role, you won’t just manage risk—you’ll shape how the organization anticipates challenges, responds to complexity, and protects both patients and staff.
