Position Location
This position will be located at the Princeton, NJ US Headquarters site.
Our Sandoz flexible hybrid working approach allows US office-based employees to work up to 50% of their monthly workday remotely. This role will not have the ability to be located remotely.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available for this role now or in the future.
Job Summary
Within the North America Strategy & Growth organization, the Director, Strategy Development drives strategic insight generation, long-range planning, and enterprise prioritization. Working closely with the VP, Strategy & Growth, this leader evaluates competitive, policy, and market dynamics; translates insights into strategic implications; and develops the NA Strategic Roadmap as the unified source of regional strategic priorities. In partnership with the Director, Strategy Deployment, this leader ensures a clean handoff from strategic choice to execution and collaborates with Corporate Communications to ensure accuracy of strategic messaging within the broader context of employee engagement.
Major Accountabilities / Your Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
External Ecosystem Evaluation & Strategic Implications
Analyze competitive, policy, payer/provider, and macroeconomic trends shaping the North America healthcare and generics/biosimilars landscape.
Generate forward‑looking insights and strategic implications that inform enterprise decision‑making.
Own the creation, evolution, and version control of the NA Strategic Roadmap as the authoritative source of long‑term regional strategic priorities.
Partner with Global Corporate Strategy to ensure regional priorities are harmonized with global enterprise strategy.
Develop and lead scenario analyses, strategic‑risk models, and long‑term enterprise assessments.
Executive Decision Support
Develop executive‑ready strategy narratives, decision memos, and option evaluations.
Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives
Lead upstream, strategy‑shaping projects such as whitespace analyses, long‑range growth opportunities, competitive assessments, and enterprise strategic evaluations.
Strategic Cross‑Functional Partnership
Engage senior functional leaders early in strategy formation to embed business realities and execution considerations.
What you’ll bring to the role
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience (Required)
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, MS) strongly preferred.
8+ years in corporate strategy, management consulting, healthcare strategy, or related disciplines.
Demonstrated experience producing executive‑level strategic recommendations.
Deep understanding of U.S. healthcare, pharmaceuticals, generics, and biosimilars
Experience operating in large, matrixed organizations and leading cross‑functional initiatives.
Exceptional communication, storytelling, and presentation skills.
Proven ability to structure complex problems, synthesize insights, and navigate ambiguity.
Preferred Requirements
Experience in pharmaceuticals, generics, biosimilars, payer strategy, or healthcare consulting.
Experience with Board‑level or C‑suite strategic engagements.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $185,500 - 344,500 USD/year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/26 through 12/31/26, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign‑on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.

If hired, employee will be in an “at‑will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
On September 30, 2021, Sandoz entered into a 5-year Corporate Integrity Agreement. Certain positions will have responsibilities to support the execution and adherence to CIA obligations, CIA‑related deliverables, and any relevant audit, monitoring or Independent Review Organization (IRO) remediation.
