Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer - (Building Design)

Location: New Delhi, Faridabad, Noida

Experience Required:

• 4-20 years of experience in electrical building design.
• Experience in consultancy services preferred.

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer Building Design to join our MEP design team. The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end electrical system design, coordination, documentation, and technical review for building projects across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical Design & Engineering:

• Perform detailed electrical load calculations and estimate total power requirements.
• Design and size DG sets, transformers, and backup power systems.
• Plan power reception from electricity supply authorities as per local by-laws.
• Space planning for HT & LT panels and electrical equipment in compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
• Design electrical power distribution systems for:
• HVAC
• Plumbing
• Firefighting
• ELV and other building services
• Develop detailed single line diagrams (SLDs) and schematic diagrams for LT panels and sub-panels.
• Design and plan cable routing, cable tray sizing, and layouts (internal & external).
• Conduct voltage drop calculations and size LT cables accordingly.
• Calculate fault levels at different stages of the electrical distribution network.
• Design earthing systems and lightning protection schemes.
• Design internal, external, and emergency lighting systems.
• Perform UPS and inverter sizing for emergency power requirements.

Documentation & Tendering:

• Prepare Design Basis Reports (DBR) and Detailed Project Reports (DPR).
• Develop BOQs (High Side & LT Side) and quantity take-off sheets (point wiring, lighting fixtures, HT cables, etc.).
• Prepare technical specifications, data sheets, and tender documents for electrical works.
• Review and approve shop drawings, technical submittals, and material approvals.

Site & Coordination:

• Conduct site visits and inspections to review execution quality and prepare snag lists.
• Coordinate with HVAC, PHE, ELV, and other MEP disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with NBC 2016 and relevant electrical codes & standards.

Technical Skills Required:

• Voltage drop and fault level calculations
• Cable scheduling and routing
• Earthing and capacitor bank sizing
• DG and transformer sizing
• BOQ preparation and quantity estimation
• Knowledge of NBC 2016
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
