WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining programs that ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. This role promotes a culture of safety, minimizes risk, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to protect employees, the environment, and company assets.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO:
· Operate, monitor, and maintain high-pressure and low-pressure boilers used in EV production and facility operations.
· Develop, implement, and monitor EHS policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with regulatory requirements and company standards.
· Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
· Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and safety audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
· Lead incident investigations, determine root causes, and implement preventive measures.
· Deliver safety training and education programs to employees at all levels.
· Monitor workplace conditions and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
· Maintain required records, reports, and documentation related to workplace safety and environmental compliance.
· Partner with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in EHS performance and safety culture.
· Support emergency preparedness and response planning, including drills and training.
· Track, analyze, and report EHS performance metrics to leadership.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field with 8+ years of related experience,
OR Master’s degree in a related field with 6+ years of experience,
OR PhD in a related field with 3+ years of experience,
OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
· Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, compliance standards, and best practices.
· Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
· Demonstrated ability to influence and engage employees at all levels of the organization.
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
· Effective communication and training facilitation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Professional certification such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager).
· Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or high-risk operational environments.
· Knowledge of ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 standards.
· Experience with EHS management systems and reporting tools.

Work Environment:
· Primarily based in a manufacturing or operational setting with exposure to moving equipment, noise, and varying environmental conditions.
