Affiliated with Starr Restaurants, El Presidente is a festive, neo-retro Mexican eatery anchored inside Washington, D.C’s newly-developed Signal House. A robust and creative menu highlights heirloom ingredients with a modern twist. Bright agave-forward tequila and mezcal cocktails dovetail with interconnected dining rooms, eclectic interiors and legendary south-of-the-border hospitality.
Because at its heart, El Presidente is about the theater of going out.
The team is currently seeking an Executive Chef who has a progressive culinary background to work collaboratively as part of the management team to create moments that surprise, details that delight, and flavors that linger long after the last plate is cleared.

Desired candidates will have:
- 6+ years of progressive culinary management experience in well-rated restaurants with more recent experience of as a Chef de Cuisine or Executive Chef
- Experience with Mexican & Spanish cuisine - preferred
- Prior experience and success in running expo in a busy kitchen
- Strong financial acumen with the proven ability to oversee cost control, labor management and bottom-line profitability
- Experience hiring, training and mentoring salaried managers and hourly BOH staff
