The Role
Executive / Senior Executive (Case Operations), Migrant Workers’ Centre
About MWC Set up in 2009, Migrant Workers’ Centre (MWC) is a non-governmental organisation whose mission is to champion fair employment practices and the well-being of migrant workers in Singapore, by pursuing four main pillars: Fairness, Assistance, Integration, and Representation. ResponsibilitiesProvide assistance to migrant workers referred by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) in order to meet their needs for temporary housing and food while MOM resolves their cases. Attend to the immediate needs of distressed migrant workers by arranging temporary shelter, sustenance, and other urgent assistance during statutory recovery processes.Provide advice and case representation services to aggrieved migrant workers. Champion the migrant worker cause through public advocacy efforts.
Build and maintain good relationships with stakeholders including MOM, other government agencies, and migrant‑focused NGOs.Assess claims made by migrant workers, recommend appropriate actions, and escalate legitimate cases to the relevant authorities for conciliation and enforcement.Monitor and track case progress through to closure (e.g. repatriation or transfer of employer), ensuring accurate and complete documentation.Assess requests involving migrant workers and make recommendations to the MWC’s management and trustees. Support any ad-hoc tasks or projects assigned by supervisor/management
RequirementsDegree/Diploma in any discipline, with preferably 2–3 years of relevant experiencePassionate in pursuing advocacy work related to Migrant Workers and to always maintain a positive and professional outlook Demonstrates genuine commitment to supporting the well‑being and rights of migrant workersAble to work independently and manage assigned tasks with minimal supervisionAble to work in a high-paced environment and support other core functions within the organization Effective verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in at least one migrant worker language is an advantage.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Possession of a valid Class 3 driving licence is an advantage.Willing and able to respond to urgent incidents at irregular hours, including weekends.
