Strategic Program Analyst - FAA (Air Traffic Organization) Remote | Must be local to Washington, DC Metro Area
PTF Consulting is supporting a critical initiative within the Federal Aviation Administration's Air Traffic Organization (ATO), focused on advancing strategic weather and operational capabilities that directly impact the national airspace system.
We are seeking a senior-level professional to provide program and technical support to the ATO strategy office, helping plan, coordinate, and execute strategic portfolios tied to aviation weather modernization and air traffic decision support.
This role is ideal for someone who understands the intersection of aviation operations, weather systems, and federal program strategy, and can translate complex technical initiatives into actionable program execution.
What You'll Do
Support strategic planning and execution across FAA ATO portfolios Manage data-driven project schedules, program documentation, and technical inputs Conduct operational needs assessments and support requirements review processes Coordinate across stakeholders including government leadership, technical teams, and cross-Line of Business groups Facilitate meetings, track action items, and prepare executive-level briefings Support governance activities including participation in weather-related plenary sessions and safety panels Analyze interdependencies and operational impacts related to trajectory planning and weather resiliency Align technical capabilities, including advanced weather tools, with FAA strategic and budgetary objectives
What We're Looking For
Strong experience supporting strategy implementation within aviation, air traffic, or weather modernization programs Experience managing complex, data-driven program schedules and documentation Ability to assess operational needs and translate them into actionable program requirements Proven experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders and organizations Strong communication skills with the ability to support executive-level reporting and briefings Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in aviation management, engineering, meteorology, systems engineering, or a related field 7+ years of experience supporting federal aviation, air traffic management, or weather-related programs Experience working within FAA or similar federal program environments Knowledge of aviation weather systems and decision-support tools used in air traffic operations Familiarity with FAA strategic planning, budgeting, and governance processes
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting FAA programs or working directly with the Air Traffic Organization Familiarity with aviation weather modernization initiatives such as WIMAT or EWRS Experience participating in cross-Line of Business weather governance forums or plenary sessions Background in trajectory-based operations or air traffic decision support systems Experience documenting program interdependencies and operational impacts Familiarity with portfolio management tools or data analysis platforms used in federal environments
Work Environment
This is a remote position; however, candidates must be located in the Washington, DC Metro area to support collaboration and potential onsite engagement as needed.
