Fashion Designer
Bluethread Brands
Job Description
Company Description
Bluethread Brands is a leading fashion conglomerate known for its diverse portfolio of fashion brands Dorabi (www.shopdorabi.com) and Aamili (www.aamili.com).
Role Description
We’re hiring a Fashion Designer (3–5 years experience) — Gurgaon/Delhi NCR
This is not a typical design role.
At Dorabi, design is not just about creating clothes. It’s about building a visual language, shaping a brand, and understanding what actually works in the real world — not just on a moodboard.
We’re looking for someone who is:
• An artist at heart — you think in textures, stories, forms, and emotion
• Deeply technical — garment construction, fit, sketching, and fabric understanding are second nature to you
• Curious about data — you care about what sells, why it sells, and how design decisions impact business
• Comfortable working in a startup — fast, messy, hands-on, and beyond defined roles
• Long-term oriented — you’re not here to “do a collection”, you want to help build a brand identity over time
What you’ll do:
• Design collections end-to-end — from concept to final product
• Work closely on developing Dorabi’s evolving visual identity
• Translate creative ideas into commercially viable products
• Collaborate across functions — marketing, production, merchandising
• Be involved in fittings, sampling, and fabric development (including dye processes)
• Take ownership — not just of design, but outcomes
Must-haves (non-negotiable):
• 3–5 years of experience in fashion design
• Strong command over garment construction and fit
• Excellent sketching and visualization skills
• Solid understanding of fabrics and processes (including pre-dye stages like RFD, fabric behavior, etc.)
• Ability to balance creativity with commercial thinking
This role is not for you if:
• You only enjoy the “creative” side but not execution
• You are not detail-oriented or technically strong
• You’re looking for a slow-paced or highly structured environment
We’re building something long-term and meaningful.
- If that excites you, write to us at with your portfolio and a note on how you think design and business should work together.
