Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment for proper performance and determine faults and malfunctions.
• Adjust, repair, and replace defective parts, components, or systems according to scope of work.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance.
• Commission new equipment.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists.
• Stay current with industry, customers, product developments and technical best practices.
• Other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Environmental, Health & Safety

• Comply with Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology safety policies and applicable regulations.
• Identify and report unsafe work habits, incidents, and near misses; perform risk assessments prior to each task.
• Maintain hand tools and equipment for safe operation.
• Maintain orderly work area and ensure housekeeping requirements are met.
• Attend environmental, health & safety related trainings.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) assigned for each task.

Qualifications

• Red Seal certification.
• At least 3 years related experience with mining equipment (asset).
• Two years of mechanical experience on drills (asset).
• Previous experience with Sandvik equipment (asset).
• Excellent proficiency in reading hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues with mining equipment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer literacy (MS Office).
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to local mine sites and across Canada as required.
• Ability and willingness to work varied shifts as required.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
