Job Summary
Sandvik Mining is seeking a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic (2 weeks fly in/out) for the Lynn Lake, Manitoba location. At Sandvik, you’ll be part of a world of opportunities with a diverse business and global network, supporting personal growth and exceptional achievements.

Responsibilities
- Inspect equipment for proper performance and determine faults and malfunctions.
- Adjust, repair, and replace defective parts, components, or systems according to scope of work.
- Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance.
- Commission new equipment.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists.
- Stay current with industry, customers, product developments and technical best practices.
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Environmental, Health & Safety
- Comply with Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology safety policies and applicable regulations.
- Identify and report unsafe work habits, incidents, and near misses; perform risk assessments prior to each task.
- Maintain hand tools and equipment for safe operation.
- Maintain orderly work area and ensure housekeeping requirements are met.
- Attend environmental, health & safety related trainings.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) assigned for each task.
Qualifications
- Red Seal certification.
- At least 3 years related experience with mining equipment (asset).
- Two years of mechanical experience on drills (asset).
- Previous experience with Sandvik equipment (asset).
- Excellent proficiency in reading hydraulic and electrical schematics.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues with mining equipment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literacy (MS Office).
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to local mine sites and across Canada as required.
- Ability and willingness to work varied shifts as required.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
