Job Summary
As the Finance Coordinator, you provide in-depth budget and financial analysis that supports senior leadership and management in making well‑informed financial decisions. Your analysis ensures that the agency meets obligations in managing federal, state (including bond), and special revenue funds and complies with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and policies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Two years of advanced professional budget or financial analysis experience that demonstrates:
- Experience monitoring and tracking program budgets, including developing forecasts, variance analysis, trends analysis, and/or fund balance projections.
- Experience using statewide or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)/accounting systems (e.g., PeopleSoft/Oracle or equivalent) and data tools.
- Experience consulting and providing guidance on financial matters by interpreting and applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or similar accounting principles.
- Experience creating financial reports or analytic tools to reconcile, report, and present financial results.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, business, or finance may substitute for six months of advanced professional budget or financial analysis experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Public‑sector budget and financial analysis experience with oversight of multiple funding sources (federal, state/bond, special revenues).
- Experience leading or coordinating an annual budget cycle, including scenario modeling, contingency planning, and compliance reviews.
Additional Requirements
- Successful candidate must pass past-employer reference checks and criminal history check.
