ACCIONA is seeking a highly capable Finance Manager to support the financial leadership of major infrastructure projects across Australia. Reporting to the Commercial & Finance Director, this role is critical in ensuring strong financial governance, accurate reporting, and effective commercial support across complex project environments.
As Finance Manager, you will lead core finance and administration functions, partnering closely with project, commercial, and corporate teams. You will provide strategic financial insight, oversee statutory and management reporting, support cashflow and financing requirements, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and governance frameworks.
This role suits a finance professional who thrives in large, fast‑paced, project‑based environments and enjoys influencing business outcomes through clear financial leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management for major projects
- Oversee month‑end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with AASB/IFRS standards, internal controls, and audit requirements
- Provide financial analysis, feasibility studies, and variance reporting to support decision‑making
- Partner with Commercial and Construction teams on cost control, claims, variations, and accruals
- Support audits, governance processes, and risk management activities
- Maintain and improve finance systems and reporting tools (SAP/ERP, Excel, Power BI)
- Lead and develop finance staff, uplifting capability and performance
Required Skills and Competencies
- Degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting; CPA or CA qualification (or working toward)
- Strong experience in project or construction‑based finance environments
- Demonstrated capability in budgeting, forecasting, cashflow, and financial controls
- Solid knowledge of accounting standards, compliance, and audit processes
- Experience partnering with commercial/contracts teams
- Strong systems capability (SAP/ERP and advanced Excel; Power BI desirable)
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels
