Job Overview
The Finance Manageris responsible foroverseeing Be StrongInternationalsdaytoday financial operations while contributing to the organizations longterm financial strategy and sustainability.This role requires active involvement in accounting, budgeting, grant management,complianceand internal controls, as well as collaboration with seniorleadershipandcross functional teamsto support informed decisionmaking.This role requires strong nonprofit accountingexpertiseand fiscal management,theability to build strong scalable systems,and a commitment to stewardship in support of a missiondriven, valuesbased organization.

- Financial Operations & Accounting Oversight
Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination,bankand credit cardreconciliations, and general ledger maintenance, ensuring accuracy and compliance withGAAP. - Budgeting, Planning& FinancialAnalysis
Lead, develop, manage, andmonitorthe organizations annual operating budget in collaboration with the COO and leadership team; track budgettoactuals, prepare forecasts,profit and loss reports,and provide variance analysis and recommendationsto guide leadership team.Support program team leaders in managing budgets and understanding financial dataandprojections. - Grant & Restricted FundManagement
Ensure grant and contract funds are tracked,allocated, and reported accuratelyin compliance with funding agreements and organizational policies.Process amendments as needed.Provide insights and strengthen systems and processes that align withgrantsmanagementandfinancial accountability. - Compliance, Audit & Financial Risk Management
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reportsfor various stakeholders (board of directors, funders, leadershipteam, etc.)support annualagencyandgrant fundedprogramaudits, prepare990,indirect cost rate agreementandensure compliance with federal, state, and local nonprofit financial regulations.Ensure proper internal controls. - Process Improvement and Scalability
Continuouslyevaluate,presentand improve financial processes and systemstosupport organizational growth. Implements under the guidance of theCOO,efficienciesthat reduce manual processes andadditionalcosts to improveaccuracy andcan prepare the organization to scale its programs and social enterprise.
Additional Responsibilities and Duties
- Support the development and maintenance of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with program leaders to align financial planning with program goals and grant requirements.
- Identifyfinancial risks and provide mitigation strategies.
- Develop and improve systems that reduce manual work and support organizational growth.
- Translate financial information for nonfinancial staff to promote transparency and shared accountability.
- Participate in leadership meetings and special projects related to organizational growth and sustainability.
- Support continuous improvement of financial operations as the organization continues to scale.
- Directly oversees Grant Accountant,Bookkeeperor other assigned roles.
- Assists COO to build dashboards that allow leadership and cross team collaboratorsto viewprogrammatic or agency-widefinancialsat a glance.
- Integrate financial data with CRM systems to improve efficiency as needed.
- Present quarterly financial presentations to the Board of Directors andadditionalstakeholders as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience, Qualifications and Skill
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, ora relatedfield.
- Minimum ofeight(8) years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit finance or accounting.
- Minimum ofthree (3)years of experience in a supervisory, lead, or management role
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit fund accounting, GAAP, and grant compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting,forecasting,financial reporting, audits, and restricted funds management.
- ProficiencyinQuickbooks,Excel,pivot tables,XLOOKUP,datavisualizationandAItools(Power BI,Zapier,etc).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problemsolving skills.
- Abilitytocommunicate complex financial information clearly to nonfinancial stakeholdersand collaborate across departments.
- Capacity to identify financial risks, optimize processes, and provide actionable recommendations for business growth.
