FPAC (Fleet Products and Capacity) Team ensures that Amazon always has the required fleet capacity, at the right location, at the right time, and at the right cost. Key business KPIs will include vehicle demand (act vs. forecast) and utilization (branded/LMR/3P rental). From Purchase to Remarketing, the Fleet Finance team works closely with our Business partners across programs, R&D and reporting to be best in class for controllership of our most mobile assets.
Key job responsibilities Communicate data clearly and concisely to drive critical business actions Build trust with business partners to influence decisions that improve business outcomes and reduce costs Identify risks, evaluate impacts, and implement improvements to address gaps Understand cost structures to make sound judgments in ambiguous environments Own financial and operational planning processes to produce challenging yet achievable operational plans Manage month‑end procedures including accruals and variance analysis across scenarios Deliver weekly/monthly financial close using financial systems and advanced Excel functions to handle large datasets Work with diverse data sources, identify data quality issues, determine root causes, and partner on solutions Adjust communication style for different audiences to articulate complex finance issues clearly Identify and implement solutions to improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance processes Prioritize work effectively, meet deadlines, and distinguish between urgent and non‑urgent issues Drive self‑development by expanding finance expertise and sharing knowledge with teams Lead projects to streamline processes and reports A day in the life Communicate data clearly and concisely to drive critical business actions Build trust with business partners to influence decisions that improve business outcomes and reduce costs Identify risks, evaluate impacts, and implement improvements to address gaps Understand cost structures to make sound judgments in ambiguous environments Own financial and operational planning processes to produce challenging yet achievable operational plans Manage month‑end procedures including accruals and variance analysis across scenarios Deliver weekly/monthly financial close using financial systems and advanced Excel functions to handle large datasets Work with diverse data sources, identify data quality issues, determine root causes, and partner on solutions Adjust communication style for different audiences to articulate complex finance issues clearly Identify and implement solutions to improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance processes Prioritize work effectively, meet deadlines, and distinguish between urgent and non‑urgent issues Drive self‑development by expanding finance expertise and sharing knowledge with teams Lead projects to streamline processes and reports Basic Qualifications 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science) and 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experience Preferred Qualifications 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience MBA, or CPA Knowledge of SQL/ETL Experience working with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
