Finance Officer

Our NSW Government client are hiring for a highly capable Finance Officer to join the organisation. The successful candidate will have strong Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience, with experience in SAP being preferable.

Role Title: Finance Officer

Contract Role: 9th of June until the 31st of December, 2026

Hourly Pay: Between $55-$65 + Super per hour

Location: Sydney CBD (2000)/Hybrid.

About the Role

• Contribute to the preparation of month‑end activities including but not limited to accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, and other activities to ensure effective financial management.
• Work with outsourced service providers to provide essential support and delivery of key processes including accounts payable and receivable, and tax compliance reporting.
• Provide administrative support including administration of purchasing cards, travel accounts and other activities to support the team.
• Respond to queries and requests for information in a timely manner to meet business requirements.
• Update administrative practices, systems, and procedures to improve efficiency and service delivery.
• Assist the team and broader Finance directorate to meet cyclical workflow deadlines and any other duties as required.

Skills & Experience

• Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable and month-end accounting processes.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Tertiary qualifications in Commerce/Finance and/or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Experience in SAP is deemed preferable.
