Educational Qualification:B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Controls, Computer Science, or Aerospace Engineering.
Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled Flight Controls Engineer to join our UAV and autonomous systems team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in control theory and embedded systems, with hands-on experience in flight control software, IOT, sensor fusion, and stability algorithms. This role involves developing, tuning, and validating flight control systems for drones and aerial platforms.
Key Responsibilities:Control System Design:Develop and implement flight control algorithms for stability, navigation, and manoeuvring.Apply principles of control theory to optimize system response and robustness.Software Development:Program flight control logic using C++ and Embedded C and Arduino.Customize and extend open-source flight stacks like PX4 and Ardupilot.Customisation of Mission planning Software.Sensor Fusion & Integration:Integrate data from IMUs, GPS, LiDAR, and other sensors for accurate state estimation.Implement sensor fusion techniques for real-time control and navigation.
Testing & Validation:Conduct Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing to validate control algorithms.Analyse flight data and refine control parameters for improved performance.Collaboration & Documentation:Work closely with hardware, software, and systems teams to ensure seamless integration.Document control system architecture, tuning procedures, and test results.
Required Skills & Qualifications:3-5 years of experience in flight control systems development.Strong knowledge of control theory, C++, and Embedded C.Experience with PX4, Ardupilot, and UAV flight dynamics.Proficiency in sensor fusion and real-time embedded systems with IOT.Familiarity with flight stability algorithms and tuning techniques.Excellent analytical, debugging, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for control system modelling.Exposure to safety-critical systems and airworthiness standards.Hands-on experience with drone piloting and flight testing.
