Job Description
Location: Remote / HybridType: Full-time or contract-to-full-time
About SurogateSurogate is building an intelligence factory for autonomous agents: a hosted platform where people and teams can build, deploy, observe, improve, and monetize AI agents. A Surogate agent is "a version of you running in the cloud," built to run workflows 24/7, monitor work, prepare deliverables, connect to tools, and report back with results.
The platform serves both operators and builders. Operators can run agents day-to-day, attach skills and knowledge bases, publish agents to channels, review sessions, and improve agents without managing infrastructure. Builders can design agents, write skills, connect MCP servers, train experts, run evaluations, use their own models, and deploy on their own compute.
Surogate combines no-code agent building, cloud execution, autonomous multi-agent workflows, integrations, monitoring, skills, knowledge bases, MCP servers, custom models, fine-tuning, datasets, evaluation, and bring-your-own-compute infrastructure.
We are looking for a growth hacker who can turn this into a repeatable growth engine.
The RoleWe need a hands-on growth hacker who can take Surogate from "powerful product" to "obvious must-try product" for creators, consultants, freelancers, agencies, developers, AI builders, and small businesses.
You will own the full growth loop: positioning, acquisition, activation, experiments, content, community, lifecycle, referrals, onboarding, and conversion. This is not a corporate marketing role. You will ship experiments every week, talk to users, build landing pages, write copy, launch campaigns, analyze funnels, and find the channels that produce real activated users.
The right person understands AI tools, SaaS funnels, PLG, technical audiences, creator-led growth, and scrappy distribution. You should be comfortable selling both the simple promise - "multiply yourself with cloud agents" - and the technical depth behind the product: skills, experts, MCP, fine-tuning, evaluations, BYO models, and agent monetization.
What You'll Do
Own Surogate's growth strategy from first touch to activated usage, including traffic, signups, onboarding, agent creation, first successful run, repeat usage, paid conversion, and agent monetization.Build and run rapid experiments across SEO, founder-led content, technical content, X/LinkedIn, Reddit, Hacker News, Product Hunt, YouTube, newsletters, communities, cold outreach, partnerships, templates, and referral loops.Create high-converting landing pages for specific use cases such as AI receptionist agents, sales qualification agents, customer support agents, research agents, recruiter agents, freelancer workflow agents, content operations agents, and developer automation agents.Turn Surogate's use cases into acquisition assets: templates, "build an agent for X" tutorials, demo videos, benchmark posts, comparison pages, monetization playbooks, and niche-specific campaigns.Drive activation by improving the path from signup to "my first useful agent." This includes onboarding flows, email sequences, in-app prompts, templates, docs-to-product journeys, and user education.Work with the product and engineering team to identify friction in the funnel, especially around agent creation, skills, knowledge bases, MCP servers, channels, monetization, and custom model workflows.Build growth loops around Surogate's strongest product mechanics: agents that can be sold to customers, templates that can be reused across niches, public agent pages, Stripe-powered monetization, and builder/operator workflows. Surogate already supports charging end users for public agents through Stripe Connect on eligible plans.Run analytics across the full funnel: acquisition channel, signup quality, activation rate, agent creation rate, first run success, retained usage, paid conversion, monetization adoption, and expansion.Interview users weekly and translate what you learn into sharper positioning, better onboarding, better campaigns, and more useful product growth ideas.Build a repeatable growth system, not one-off campaigns.
What Success Looks Like
In the first 30 days, you understand the product deeply, map the core user segments, audit the funnel, identify the strongest acquisition wedges, and launch the first batch of growth experiments. In the first 60 days, you have launched multiple use-case landing pages, improved onboarding, shipped content and community experiments, and produced clear data on which channels and messages create activated users. In the first 90 days, you have one or more repeatable growth loops working: for example, a niche template strategy, a creator/agency monetization playbook, a developer content engine, a community campaign, or a partner/referral channel that reliably produces signups and active agents.
You Might Be a Fit If
You have grown an early-stage SaaS, AI, developer tool, marketplace, automation product, or PLG product before. You are comfortable with messy early-stage growth: writing copy, building pages, analyzing data, talking to users, launching experiments, and changing direction quickly. You understand modern AI workflows well enough to explain agents, tools, knowledge bases, MCP, model routing, fine-tuning, and evaluations in plain language. You can write clearly and persuasively for multiple audiences: non-technical operators, freelancers, agencies, small business owners, developers, and AI builders. You think in funnels, loops, activation events, retention cohorts, and conversion rates - not just impressions and engagement. You are technical enough to work with docs, APIs, GitHub repos, product analytics, and no-code/low-code tooling. You are creative enough to find weird, asymmetric growth channels before they become crowded. You have strong taste in positioning. You can turn "hosted autonomous agent runtime with skills, MCP, training, evaluation, and monetization" into a message a buyer immediately understands.
Nice to Have
Experience growing AI agents, automation tools, developer platforms, no-code tools, creator tools, or B2B SaaS.Experience with Product Hunt launches, SEO content systems, founder-led social, technical tutorials, community-led growth, affiliate/referral programs, or marketplace growth.Experience with tools like PostHog, GA4, Search Console, Ahrefs/Semrush, Webflow/Framer, Stripe, HubSpot, Customer.io, Resend, Supabase, or similar.Experience creating templates, playbooks, demo agents, onboarding flows, lifecycle emails, or product-led sales motions.Experience selling to freelancers, agencies, creators, consultants, small businesses, or developer communities.
What You'll Own

Example Projects You Could Work On
Launch "Build an AI receptionist agency without code" as a complete campaign: landing page, template, demo agent, onboarding emails, video walkthrough, and outreach list.Create a developer growth loop around skills, MCP servers, and expert fine-tuning, using Surogate's builder loop: build, observe, train, redeploy.Turn agent monetization into a creator/agency acquisition wedge: "build once, deploy to 20 businesses, charge monthly."Build comparison pages for "Surogate vs. no-code chatbot builders," "Surogate vs. LangChain DIY," and "Surogate vs. custom AI automation agencies."Create a library of niche agent templates for recruiters, real estate agents, consultants, e-commerce sellers, support teams, and content teams.Design an activation experiment that gets new users from signup to a useful deployed agent in under 10 minutes.
