Gas Fitter

Job Description

We are an established HVAC company in Ottawa seeking two experienced Gas Fitters to join our growing technical team. The successful candidates will install, service, and maintain natural gas systems and gas-fired heating equipment in residential and light commercial properties while ensuring full compliance with Ontario safety regulations and gas codes.

Responsibilities

• Study blueprints and technical specifications to determine layout and materials required
• Measure and mark reference points for the installation of gas piping and equipment
• Install and maintain gas meters, regulators, and gas lines
• Install, service, and repair gas-fired heating units, including furnaces, boilers, water heaters, and fireplaces
• Test and replace defective components such as burners, valves, and automatic controls
• Conduct pressure testing and leak detection using approved gas detection devices
• Respond to service calls and emergency situations as required
• Prepare service reports and maintain documentation of work performed
• Advise clients on safety standards and maintenance of gas systems

Requirements

• Completion of secondary school
• Valid Ontario Gas Technician license (G2 or G1 preferred)
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
• Valid Ontario G-class driver’s license
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills

• Salary: $32.00 per hour
• Hours: 30–40 hours per week
• Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
