General Manager – Operations (P&L Leadership | Industrial Solar Salt)

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (Frequent travel to Uvinza)

Reporting To: Board of Directors (dotted line to Managing Director)

Role Overview :

We are looking for a high-impact General Manager – Operations with full P&L ownership to lead and scale a large industrial solar salt business in Tanzania.

Key Responsibilities (P&L Driven) :

1. Full P&L Ownership & Financial Leadership

• Own and drive the entire company P&L, including revenue, EBITDA, and cash flow
• Lead annual operating plans, budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy
• Optimize cost structures, margins, and working capital efficiency
• Drive EBITDA growth and return on capital employed (ROCE)

2. Revenue Growth & Commercial Strategy

• Oversee domestic and export sales performance
• Define pricing strategy, customer mix, and channel expansion
• Identify new markets, partnerships, and growth opportunities
• Align commercial strategy with profitability goals

3. Capital Allocation & Asset Optimization

• Lead capex planning, investment decisions, and asset utilization
• Ensure maximum ROI on infrastructure and operational investments
• Drive efficiency across salt field infrastructure, processing, and logistics

4. Operational Excellence with Financial Discipline

• Link operational KPIs to financial outcomes (cost per MT, yield, efficiency)
• Improve productivity, throughput, and cost efficiency
• Ensure safe, reliable, and scalable operations

5. Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Establish strong financial controls, audit mechanisms, and compliance frameworks
• Manage business risks and ensure regulatory adherence in Tanzania

6. Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Build and lead a high-performing cross-functional leadership team
• Act as a key interface with Board, investors, regulators, and external stakeholders
• Drive a culture of ownership, accountability, and performance

• Cost Efficiency: Cost per MT, productivity improvements
