This role sits specifically in our Payment Performance team. We focus on maximizing conversion rates and minimizing fraud rates by leveraging ML and smart rules, ensuring higher revenues for merchants. You will collaborate with MLEs, back‑end, front‑end engineers, and data scientists to innovate and keep Checkout a best‑in‑class provider.

What we are looking for: Software engineers proficient in Go. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Expert proficiency in Go with a strong understanding of software development principles in a backend environment.

Great communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Experience working in agile environments and delivering high‑quality code within tight deadlines. Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Someone who is AI proficient or AI curious, eager to embrace latest technology to enhance productivity. Payments or financial knowledge is a plus, but not a necessity. How you’ll make an impact: Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including product management across a large engineering community.

Define and design loosely coupled, scalable systems, and microservices using industry best practices. Stay up‑to‑date, use, and spread knowledge of the latest technologies at Checkout. Write clean, maintainable, extensible and testable code for Checkout’s most impactful systems.
