Product R&D’s RF Test division is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Group Manager to lead our talented Digital engineering team in Austin, TX. This high impact role is responsible for both people management and technical execution for the design and development of next generation RF Test and Measurement instrumentation.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Digital Engineers, fostering an engaged, high ‑ trust environment that supports growth, strong execution, and continuous improvement.
- Drive performance, compensation, and recognition processes while empowering the team through ongoing coaching and career development that builds capability and future leadership.
- Allocate resources to meet project roadmap, scope, and budgets, ensuring alignment between team capacity and business priorities.
- Oversee and support the engineering team as they design, development , and validate digital hardware for RF Test and Measurement products, ensuring high quality execution and technical excellence.
- Provide technical and leadership support for customer escalations, resolving complex hardware issues and maintaining customer confidence.
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement in design practices, engineering processes, and ways of working.
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical , Computer, or Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of engineering experience in hardware design.
- Demonstrated success managing engineering teams, including talent development and performance management.
- Strong communication and influencing skills; able to motivate, coach, and inspire teams while building effective partnerships across the organization.
- Commitment to continuous improvement, proactive problem solving, and driving execution in a fast‑paced R&D environment.
- Located within a commutable distance to NI’s offices in Austin, TX, or willing to relocate.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing hardware using FPGAs, including proficiency with HDL languages, development tools, and related workflows.
- Experience managing complex engineering projects or programs.
- Strong business acumen and critical thinking skills.
- Background in multidisciplinary R&D environments and the Test & Measurement industry.
- Recognized ability to lead change, shape culture, and connect teams to a larger strategic vision.
