Head of Civil Engineering

Role Overview:We are seeking a seasoned Project/Construction Head to lead end-to-end execution of greenfield power/energy/solar/hydro/wind projects, including plant setup from scratch (manufacturing + EPC). The role will be responsible for project planning, execution, cost control, and delivery while ensuring adherence to timelines, quality, safety, and regulatory standards.Key Responsibilities:Project & Construction ManagementLead end-to-end execution of greenfield projects (site selection commissioning handover)Drive construction of power plants and manufacturing facilities from ground-upEnsure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and safety normsOversee civil, mechanical, electrical, and EPC activitiesPlanning & ExecutionDevelop project plans, budgets, and resource allocation strategiesMonitor project schedules, milestones, and critical pathsImplement project governance frameworks and reporting mechanismsVendor & Contractor ManagementManage EPC contractors, vendors, and consultantsLead contract negotiations, procurement, and vendor performance managementEnsure cost optimization and timely delivery from partnersP&L and Cost ManagementOwn project budgets, cost control, and financial planningDrive cost efficiencies, margin improvement, and risk mitigationTrack Capex, ROI, and project profitabilityRegulatory & ComplianceEnsure compliance with statutory regulations, environmental norms, and safety standardsLiaise with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and local stakeholdersStakeholder ManagementEngage with internal leadership, investors, and external partnersProvide regular project updates, risk assessments, and mitigation plansAct as the single point of accountability for project deliveryTeam LeadershipBuild and lead high-performing project and site teamsDrive a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellenceKey Requirements:Bachelor's/Master's in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Civil); MBA preferred18-32 years of experience in Power / Renewable Energy / Solar / EPC/manufacturingProven experience in greenfield project execution (plant setup from scratch)Strong exposure to construction, EPC, and manufacturing plant setupDemonstrated experience in handling large-scale Capex projects and P&L ownershipStrong understanding of regulatory frameworks, safety, and complianceExcellent leadership, stakeholder management, and vendor management skillsPreferred Experience:Experience in solar parks, renewable energy plants, or energy infrastructure projectsExposure to module manufacturing / battery / energy storage plantsExperience working with large EPC players or energy companies
