Salary: $160K - $200K base + bonus + equity
Our client is a mission-driven, venture-backed startup tackling one of the most important challenges of our time — improving youth mental health at scale. They’re building a product designed to create real, measurable impact, and are now entering a critical growth phase.
This is a foundational hire, working directly with the CEO to build the team that will define the company’s future.
The Role
This is a true 0→1 opportunity to build and own the entire recruiting function from scratch.
You’ll operate as the sole talent leader initially, responsible for everything from sourcing through to closing, while laying the foundations for a world‑class hiring engine.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, loves building, and is deeply passionate about finding and winning exceptional talent.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own and run full-cycle recruiting across all functions (engineering, product, design, ops, leadership)
- Hire 25–30 high-impact individuals over the next 9 months
- Build the recruiting function from the ground up — processes, systems, tooling, and interviewer training
- Develop creative, network-driven sourcing strategies to attract top‑tier, passive talent
- Partner directly with the CEO on hiring strategy, org design, and compensation
- Manage and optimise relationships with external agencies where needed
- Act as a hands‑on IC initially, before scaling and building out the talent team
What They’re Looking For
- 6+ years in full‑cycle recruiting OR experience as a founder who has built and scaled teams
- Proven experience building a recruiting function from scratch
- Strong experience in startup or high‑growth tech environments
- Experience implementing ATS systems and building sourcing infrastructure
- Creative, proactive approach to sourcing — strong network and ability to engage passive talent
- Highly personable, empathetic, and commercially minded (“super‑networker” profile)
- Willing to be hands‑on as an IC in the early stages

- Background as a founder or VC talent partner
- Strong interest in mental health or mission‑driven companies
