HGV Class 1 Driver Days

Overview

We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating curtain side lorries to deliver goods across various locations within our pallet network. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a passion for commercial driving and delivering exceptional service.

The position involves adhering to all safety regulations and maintaining high standards of vehicle presentation and customer service.

Responsibilities

Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including curtain side lorries, in compliance with all road safety laws and company policies

Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, ensuring timely arrival at destinations

Secure loads properly on curtain siders to prevent movement during transit

Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues promptly

Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logbooks

Assist with loading and unloading goods when required, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage

Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with clients and colleagues during deliveries

Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment at all times

Qualifications

Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record

Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with curtain side vehicles and delivery routes

Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for secure load handling

Delivery driver experience is highly desirable

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during shifts

Good organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and vehicle maintenance

Flexibility to work various shifts as required, including early mornings or late evenings if necessary

Pay: £38,000.00 per year
