Responsibilities
- Review new positions in anticipation of recruitment to ensure appropriate classification. Modify and create new job descriptions that accurately reflect current roles, responsibilities, and requirements. Review and recommend salary placements for new hires as requested.
- Maintain current job descriptions/classifications on the Applicant Tracking system, regularly audit positions to position control.
Validate vacant positions to position control on a regular basis in coordination with recruitment and budget.
- Review manager's requests for job reclassification and make classification/pay grade recommendations. This includes reviewing job descriptions/classifications, conferring with managers, evaluating jobs and making recommendations on appropriate FLSA code and pay grade level with consideration for internal equity. Handle administrative steps to formalize recommendations for approval.
Prepare written reports on findings. Communicate with managers regarding the result of the review.
- Champion compensation survey participation and analysis with vendors, local jurisdictions, peer companies, and other groups to gather and maintain current market data for current positions.
- Coordinate and prepare the annual compensation letter for each employee following the formal class study and annual merit cycle. Prepare documentation for the annual internal reclassification requests and potential appeals on an annual basis.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and other HR partners to prepare HRIS reports and analytical data.
- Enter new hires into the HRIS.
Participate as needed in developing new processes regarding the new hire experience.
- Manage the Agency service award program and award time.
- Partner with HR staff to prepare quarterly updates to organizational charts and the intranet site (SharePoint).
- Ensure compliance of compensation and classification programs and practices.
- Compile regular reports for on‑going program management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or equivalent and 4 years of experience in HR, HRIS, Finance or any other analytical experience in a similar sized company, or equivalent combination.
Experience using HRIS database software required.
Compensation experience preferred.
Special Requirements
Ability to maintain confidentiality. The person will have access to highly personal and sensitive information, potentially including medical records, social security information, employee relations issues, etc. for all agency employees, including former employees.
