Posting Number: S15058P • Working Title: HR Managing Consultant • Department: UHR‑Inquiry Services • Location: Athens Area • Salary: $41,000+ (commensurate with experience) • Employment Type: Full‑time • Working Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Summary
Employees in this classification apply, communicate and promote human resources procedural best practices that support the university in achieving stated goals and objectives. The position involves participation in one or more HR functional areas such as benefits administration, career planning, compensation, employee retention, organizational culture, employee relations, payroll, policy‑administration, workforce planning, and related programs.
Responsibilities
- Handle phone, ticket, and in‑person interactions to perform employment activities including onboarding processes, new‑hire packet inquiries, I‑9 processing, benefits and retirement information, and basic absence management (50% of time).
- Assist the campus community with actions such as policy and program administration, compliance with applicable laws, and procedural administration (20% of time).
- Provide a range of HR support and consulting services; recommend and implement enhancements to departmental HR processes, procedures, and programs (20% of time).
- Work on HR and customer‑service projects that include data collection, analysis, and presentation; prepare and communicate reports on HR activities (10% of time).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work independently and in a team‑focused environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and critical‑thinking ability.
- Capability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information.
- Professional image and positive demeanor.
