The HR & Social Compliance Executive is responsible for ensuring that the organization adheres to all labor laws, ethical standards, and international social compliance frameworks. This role involves monitoring workplace conditions, managing audits, and maintaining all documentation required to prove ethical business practices. You will bridge the gap between human resources management and legal/ethical regulatory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesCompliance & AuditingAudit Management: Prepare for, facilitate, and follow up on internal and external social compliance audits (e.g., BSCI, SEDEX/SMETA, SA8000, or WRAP).Corrective Action Plans (CAP): Analyze audit findings and implement corrective actions to address non-compliance issues within stipulated timelines.Factory/Site Inspections: Conduct regular floor walks and site inspections to ensure health, safety, and labor standards are maintained.Policy & DocumentationStandard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Develop and update HR and compliance manuals in accordance with local labor laws and international buyer codes of conduct.Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous records of employee files, age verification, working hours, payroll records, and safety training.Legal Updates: Stay updated on amendments to local labor laws, environmental regulations, and social standards.Employee Welfare & SafetyHealth & Safety: Oversee the Health and Safety Committee, ensuring fire safety, first aid availability, and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).Grievance Redressal: Manage the employee grievance mechanism, ensuring all complaints are recorded and resolved transparently.Training: Organize and conduct awareness sessions for workers on their rights, benefits, and safety protocols.Required Qualifications & SkillsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Law, Social Work, or a related field. Certification in Social Auditing (e.g., SA8000 Lead Auditor) is a significant advantage.Experience: 2-4 years of experience in HR compliance, preferably within manufacturing, textiles, or export-oriented industries.Technical Knowledge:Deep understanding of Local Labor Laws (e.g., Factories Act, Payment of Wages, ESI/PF).Familiarity with international compliance platforms like SEDEX (RSP) or BSCI (amfori).Communication: Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills to interact with both factory workers and international auditors.Analytical Skills: High attention to detail for reviewing complex payroll and attendance documentation.Core CompetenciesIntegrity: Maintaining high ethical standards even under pressure.Problem Solving: Ability to identify root causes of non-compliance and implement sustainable solutions.Organization: Managing vast amounts of data and documentation systematically.Performance Indicators (KPIs)Successful completion of external audits with "A" or "Zero Tolerance" free ratings.100% timely closure of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs).Reduction in workplace safety incidents.Maintaining 100% accuracy in statutory compliance documentation.
