Our client is seeking a strategic, experienced Human Resources leader to serve as a key partner to executive leadership across a multi-site operating group. This Director level role will lead the development and execution of people strategies that support business performance, strengthen organizational capability, and enable long-term growth. The ideal candidate brings deep HR leadership experience in complex, multi-location environments, with particular strength in employee relations, union environments, compliance, talent management, and organizational development.
This individual will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership while driving consistency and excellence across all HR practices within the group. Key Responsibilities Serve as a strategic HR leader and partner to the Operating Group President and leadership team Lead and execute people strategies that align with business objectives and support long-term growth Oversee talent management, leadership development, and succession planning across the group Drive employee engagement initiatives and help foster a positive, high-performance culture Provide leadership and guidance on complex employee relations matters and broader organizational challenges Lead HR efforts in union environments, with a strong focus on compliance and risk mitigation Ensure consistency in employee relations, compliance, and organizational development practices across all locations Partner closely with Corporate HR and peer HR leaders to share insights, align on best practices, and support enterprise-wide initiatives Shape and enhance the overall employee experience across the group Build, lead, and develop a strong HR team and strengthen organizational capability Manage two direct reports and serve as the HR escalation point for indirect reports across the group Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field 12+ years of progressive HR leadership experience Experience supporting multi-site, group-level, or geographically dispersed operations Strong background in employee relations, talent management, and organizational development Proven ability to influence senior leadership and drive strategic initiatives Strong knowledge of employment laws, labor relations, and HR best practices Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Significant union experience required Strong compliance background required Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or similar environments preferred HR certification such as SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred Preferred Leadership Profile Strategic and hands-on leader who can balance executive partnership with operational execution Strong business acumen and ability to align HR strategy with organizational goals Skilled at leading through complexity, change, and organizational growth Effective coach and mentor with a collaborative leadership style Able to build credibility quickly and influence at all levels of the organization What Success Looks Like HR strategies are aligned with business priorities and support measurable organizational performance Employee relations and compliance practices are consistent and effective across all locations Leadership pipelines and succession plans are strengthened across the group Employee engagement and culture initiatives drive a positive and high-performing work environment HR teams are developed, empowered, and positioned to support future growth
