Job Description
Role ObjectiveTo manage plant HR operations in alignment with corporate HR policies, ensuring manpower efficiency, strong industrial relations, statutory compliance, and disciplined workforce management while supporting plant productivity goals.
Key ResponsibilitiesDrive end-to-end plant HR operations including, attendance, payroll inputs, and employee lifecycleManage workforce (operators, contract labour) and ensure discipline on shopfloorMaintain healthy industrial relations and handle grievances, misconduct, and disciplinary actionsEnsure statutory compliance (Factory Act, PF, ESIC, CLRA, etc.)Control manpower cost, overtime, and contractor deploymentPartner with Plant Head to improve productivity, absenteeism, and retentionDrive employee engagement and welfare initiatives at plant and colonySupport audits, inspections, and internal HR governanceDrive the HR functions Such as PMS, Training & other related functions successfully
- Manpower Planning & RecruitmentPlan manpower requirements based on loom capacity, shifts, and production targetsHandle recruitment for: Operators Supervisors & technical Employees Contract labourEnsure reduction in hiring lead time.
- Shopfloor HR OperationsManage attendance, shifts, and overtime controlEnsure discipline and adherence to plant rulesDrive employee engagement on shopfloorHandle grievances of workers and staff proactively
- Industrial Relations (IR)Maintain healthy IR climate in the plantHandle worker issuesConduct domestic inquiries and disciplinary actionsEnsure minimal disruptions in production due to manpower issues
- Statutory ComplianceEnsure compliance with all applicable labour laws:Factory ActPF, ESICBonus, GratuityContract Labour ActMaintain registers, records, and documentationCoordinate audits and inspections
- Contract Labour ManagementManage contractors and ensure complianceMonitor labour deployment vs requirementControl labour cost and avoid over-deployment
- Payroll & HR AdministrationOversee payroll inputs (attendance, OT, leaves)Ensure accuracy and timely salary processingManage HRMIS and employee records
- Training & DevelopmentIdentify skill gaps in operationsConduct training programs for:Skill upgradationQuality improvementSafety awarenessSupport onboarding of new joiners
- Employee Engagement & WelfareImplement welfare initiatives in plant & colonyOrganize engagement activities (festivals, sports, etc.)Improve retention and reduce absenteeism
- Safety & CulturePromote safety culture on shopfloorEnsure HR support in safety compliance and auditsBuild disciplined and performance-driven work culture
QualificationMBA / MSW in HRAdditional certification in Labour Laws preferred
Experience8-10 years in plant HR (textile preferred)
