Overview
Beitzel Corporation is seeking an experienced Industrial Automation Controls Technician to support electrical and automation systems in the mining and aggregates industries. This is a hands-on role centered on the installation, troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial control systems, including VFDs, drives, motor controls, PLC-based systems, MCCs and related field instrumentation.
Work will be performed primarily at active customer sites, with occasional shop or office support as needed. The position requires flexibility, as this role will involve regular travel with overnight stays, as well as overtime based on project demands.

Responsibilities
Configure, start up, and troubleshoot VFDs, drives, motor controls, MCCs, and PLC-based control systems
- Work safely with a variety of voltages such as 24VDC, 120VAC, 480VAC, single phase and 3-phase
Install, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial electrical and automation systems in mining and aggregate facilities
Diagnose and resolve electrical and controls issues to minimize downtime and support reliable plant operations
Perform field modifications, upgrades, and system improvements to existing industrial equipment
Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and control documentation
Support system startups and field testing to ensure safe and proper operation
Working Conditions
- Walk / use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or tools / reach with hands and arms / climb ladders and stairs / crawl / kneel
- Sit, talk, listen, observe, read, write, and type
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Perform work on site in industrial locations with occasional underground and/or at heights
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ advance experience in electrical, controls, automation, or robotics preferred
- Electrical Journeyman License in MD or WV required
- Possess High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license required
- MSHA Electrical card required or willingness to obtain within a year
- Experience reading and interpreting manuals and electrical drawings required
- Strong knowledge of NEC (National Electric Code) and other electrical Standards
- Willing and able to perform hands-on work related to programming and automation controls
