Java Software Engineer

Required Expertise

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• Hands‑on development experience in Java, Spring MVC / Spring Boot / Web Services (REST) and configuring web containers
• Ability to make significant contributions to our technology platform
• Proficiency in IDEs such as Spring Tool Suite and Eclipse within UNIX and Windows environments
• Experience with application build and deployment using CI/CD tools – Jenkins, Maven, uDeploy, etc.
• Team player, self‑starter, collaborative, innovative, and eager to learn every day
• Hands‑on knowledge of Docker and cloud‑computing services platforms (e.g., AWS or Azure)
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating multiple development work streams through integration and ensure architecture is scalable and extensible
• Define, maintain, and support Java development environment and best practices such as Maven, Sonar, and other open source tools
• Assist in identifying, isolating, resolving, and communicating problems within production and non‑production environments and perform troubleshooting
• Deliver API Platform capabilities such as Envoy Edge SaaS, Microgateway, JWT, Key Management, External Identity Mapping, SwaggerHub, Datadog, Security, and many more
• Create an API common framework
• Migrate existing APIs to Kubernetes/Azure
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing using open source frameworks
• Provide mentorship to junior team members
• Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives
• Drive new API products available in the marketplace
• Promote consumer adoption of new API products
• Decommission legacy assets in line with enterprise goals and objectives
• Responsible for infrastructure needs related to the API Platform offering from Enterprise Cloud computing
