Medical Director, Community Living Center

Join the Spokane VA Medical Center as the Medical Director of the Community Living Center and make a difference for our nation's veterans. We seek a BC Family or Internal Medicine Physician to join our collaborative, multidisciplinary team in Spokane, WA.

The role is part of the Geriatrics & Extended Care Service, providing nursing home level care to veterans requiring short‑term rehabilitation, skilled nursing, long‑term care, dementia care, or hospice care.

Responsibilities

• Review patients' histories, examinations, assessments, and plans for CLC residents; coordinate evaluations, diagnostic testing, clinical follow‑up, and care coordination.
• Co‑ordinate the Community Living Center team in day‑to‑day management of veterans.
• Promote efficiency and accuracy in timely submission of completed documents.
• Collaborate with nurse practitioners/physician assistants, ancillary health‑care providers, and various clinical specialties; help facilitate hospital admissions, post‑discharge care and specialty consultations as needed.
• Participate in screening of veterans and completion of consults for the CLC.
• Participate in telephonic coverage for urgent needs of veterans in the CLC after administrative hours.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Perform other clinical duties as assigned by the ACOS for Geriatrics & Extended Care.

Qualifications

• Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine.
• Geriatric fellowship or experience working with a multidisciplinary team.
• Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory.
