Lead DevOps Engineer

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

The Lead DEVOPs Engineer will own how software is built, deployed, and operated in production. They design and govern CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and reliability practices to ensure fast and safe delivery. Responsible for driving continuous improvement in the end-end implementation lifecycle including automated testing and deployments.

They lead through technical direction, standards, and mentorship, and act as the escalation point for deployment and production issues. You will directly oversee the Data, AI and Automation run practices driving continuous improvement across the build teams tools and processes while maintaining stable operations for delivered Data, Automation and AI products.

Reporting Structure- You will report directly to amanager employed by Under Armour Global Services Pvt. Ltd. in India. You will have dotted-linereporting intoto service recipient stakeholders at Under Armour, Inc. (US), UA's Global Headquarters.

YOUR IMPACT (Job Responsibilities):

• Drive a modern DEVOPs practice for UnderArmoursData, AI/ML, and Automation products.
• Own how software is built, deployed, andoperatedin production, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and release standards.
• Ensure production stability, reliability, and uptime through strong operational practices and clearescalation ofownership.
• Define and enforce engineering standards that improve consistency, quality, and maintainability across teams.
• Reduce operational risk by automating deployments, testing, and environment management.
• Lead cross team alignment for DevOpsas it supportsData, AI, and Automation run practices.
• Provide technical leadership through guidance, standards, and mentorship.
• Act as the escalation point for deployment, reliability, andproductionincidents.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field with8+ years of relevant experience OR Masters degree with typically5+ years of relevant experience OR10+ years of relevant experience without a degree.
• Cloud Architecture:Extensive experience with AWS services, S3, ECR, Azure, GCP CloudFormation/Terraform, andEventBridge.
• DEVOPS Architecture:Experience Architecting Modern DEVOPs practice from the ground-up and navigating prioritization decisions around where to start.
• Infrastructure as Code andEnvironment Automation:Standardize builds and changes with Terraform or similarIaC, plus configuration management and repeatable provisioning.
• Proficient in AWS (Lambda, ECS/ECR, S3, SageMaker (plus))
• DesigningCI/CD, AutomationTestingand release engineering:Build andoperatepipelines that run unit tests, integration tests, performance tests, and security scans. Enforce quality gates before deployment.
• Support safe rollout patterns like canary, blue green, and rolling releases. Integrate pipelines with version control and automate promotion through environments.
• Experience withGithubandGitubactions, or able to speak to experienceutilizingcomparative platforms.
• CI/CD pipeline design and implementation for ML workflows, data,AIand automation products
• Preferred: Experience with SageMaker and SageMaker Pipelines for scalable training and deployment
• Containerization using Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes
• Workflow automation using AWS Step Functions and State Machines
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CDK, Terraform,OpenTofu, and CloudFormation
• Secrets and accessmanagementvia IAM roles, policies, and AWS Secrets Manager
• Observability and reliability engineering:Implement metrics, logs, traces, alerting, and on-call readiness, then drive SLOs, incident response, and post-incident improvements.
• Experience using Datadog to manage observability and reliabilitypractices.
• Scripting and platform tooling:Write practical automation in Python, Go, Bash, or PowerShell, and build internal tools that reduce toil and improve developer experience.
• Strong Python programming skills for ML, data pipelines, softwarepipelinesand automation
• Comfortable with Bash/Shell scripting for system tasks and deployment hooks
• Experience with testing frameworks and validation strategies for software products (especiallydata,automationand ML)
